The geological information, especially cores and fluids, which production is
connected with huge expenses, is national property of Kazakhstan and
consequently it is necessary to provide conditions for its gathering,
preservations and studying. In due course, by an example of many other things of
the countries, it will allow to exclude irrevocable and gratuitous export abroad
cores and liquids as each time their loss means, as a matter of fact, loss and
data, and money. Therefore stage-by-stage creation for oil-and-gas branch of
system of preservation and studying of the geological information, first of all
- cores and strata fluids is urgently necessary and in interests of the state.
The purpose of the project on the organization of petrophysical research center
is creation in 2007 - 2010 of the Corporate Center on Storage and Research of a
Core and Strata fluids on the basis of affiliated companies of “Kazakh Institute
of Oil and Gas” JSC - "NIPI Caspimunaygas" JSC (Atyrau) and "KazNIPImunaygas"
JSC (Aktau). The actuality and problems of realization of the project of
creation of the Center consists in the following:
- formation of initial base for stage-by-stage formation in system of
geological service of the regional centers of Kazakhstan on storage and research
of cores and strata fluids;
- formation of prospects for realization of NC “KazMunayGas” JSC strategic
plans on increase in volumes of an oil recovery;
- fast development of the modern corporate research center, effective
utilization of personnel potential and laboratory base;
- increase of qualitative and quantitative preparation of initial parameters
of modeling, designing and management of development;
- introduction of uniform standards and techniques;
- optimization of expenses for the laboratory and research equipment;
- strengthening of NC “KazMunayGas” JSC image among the oil
companies.
The main direction of activity and development
prospects of the Center: Core research:
- Definition of filtration-induction properties of strata collectors;
- Creation of uniform methodology of complex researches performance;
- Modeling of strata conditions and studying of filtration processes;
- Test of new technologies of increase in oil recovery of strata and
efficiency of wells;
- Perfection of means and techniques of core research in laboratory
conditions.
Fluids research:
- Selection of abyssal and surface tests of strata fluids;
- Carrying out of hydrodynamic researches;
- PVT definition and physical-chemical properties of strata fluids;
- Perfection of methodology of carrying out of standard researches and means
on selection of strata fluids.
Problems solved:
- Corporate solution of selection of a core and strata fluids;
- Expansion of personnel, technical and functional opportunities on expertise
and research works;
- Creation of corporate PVT database and core materials, maintenance of safety
of the strategic information.
The project of creation and development
of the Center on storage and research of a core and strata fluids has both
short-term and long-term prospects. Its stage-by-stage development with the
purpose of achievement of a level of leadership among the similar research
centers of oil-extracting industry of Kazakhstan.
